Ok so i have a wireless router set up with 4 computers sharing it (2 of them are macs)

I have a hard drive on my computer dedicated to music/movies/pictures. Is there a way to share that drive over a network? (i dont have a network set up). If possible id like to have a password for read/write priveleges on the drive. I just want to be able to access the drive from my laptop through my own router (is that possible?)

thanks in advance, im not very computer savy.

Give This tutorial by SpaceCowboy706 a read, it's got just about everything you'd need to know.

also...you could look into getting a NAS (network attached storage) device...if all you want to do is share specific files...it might be easier to set up than a work group....they usually have built in authentication as well...so you can set up passwords for individual access...so that you can get into a folder but your buddy can't
