I had to undertake a complete recovery on my computer yesterday due to problems with a virus attack. Everything is ok apart from the sound which is very distorted, i.e. people are speaking in very high voices ( a bit like a chipmunk if you know what I mean) The DxDiag test result was as follows. Sound Tab 1: DirectSound test results: Failure at step 19 (User verification of software): HRESULT = 0x00000000 (error code)
Music Tab: No problems found.
Can anyone help please ? Chrismart
