hey, I've no doubt this has been posted and probably resolved for some people. This is the second time I've got this virus, and it only seems to appear when I use IE. I started using firefox since i formatted to save the hassle. It was all going smooth until I clicked on a link that opened in IE, boom a popup appears and I get this virus once again, or spyware, whatever it is.

If anyone could help it would be much appreciated. I'm not totally clueless in pc's but wouldn't mind a somewhat "step by step" process to make life a little easier.

Here's my HiJack this log file..

We can definitely help you, but first you need to help us. The first step in this process is to apply Service Pack 1a for Windows XP. Without this update, you're wide open to re-infection, and we're both just wasting our time.
Apply the update, reboot, and post a fresh Hijack This log.

I get an error when it tried to update. I thought I had done all the updates since my reformat. Obviously not... :tazz: It says to try a few links as to why I may be getting the error, but every link points to an error number which I do not get.. weird?

I'm so sorry. It is against our board policy to help invalid versions. And, as you have found out, without updates, you are wide open to infection. Good luck.
