Help Me Please! Terrible virus.

I am very new to these forums. this is my first post. I have got a virus on my PC and I don't know where it has come from. It has infected nearly all the executable files on all three of my hard drives. I cannot seem to get rid of it. i have the HJT software but don't really know how to use it. I am using Eset NOD32 and instead of cleaning some of the files it has deleted them. i can no longer access add/remove programs as it says I have a rundll32.exe missing.
Lots of my programs will not work. i have tried to repair XP Pro SP2 using the installation disc but it has made no difference. I really would appreciate any help in removing this virus and protecting myself in the future. Its driving me mad!!! I am quite new to this but i have a fair idea how to get myself around a PC! If you need any more information I will try to provide it. :wave:
