The Mediterranean cruises are not worth much, at least not to my taste. You better visit the countries themselves Israel is a very beautiful (but small) country as well, though living here, it gets boring visiting the same sites all over, so almost everyone flies aboard on holidays.

I have been to South Korea, then from Pusan SK we took a ferry to Hiroshima Japan, very cool. If you want to know what cell / tv technology will be in the US in 4 yrs go to Japan.

A couple years ago everyone was watching tv on their phones, now its just starting here in the US. Also these are in major cities, there are still alot of rural areas.

I always wanted to do the whole Mediterranean cruise ship thingo, that would be nice...
I did this, but it wasn't your standard cruise ship - it was 100 passenger sailboat. It was pretty incredible - we would have large schools of dolphins that would swim along with us, it was beautiful at night, and we got to see a lot of different countries/regions in a short period. We went from Cannes, France, to St. Tropez, Corsica, Elba, Portevenere (Italy), Portofino, and Monaco. I'm not big on cruises - I have no desire to get on some gigantic ship that holds several thousand people and is essentially a big floating city, but this was a really neat experience.
This link will give you a picture of the ship.

I also did a cruise on this, which was pretty cool. We cruised the Rhone River in France all the way from Lyon to the Mediterranean. We would stop at ports along the way - all in different areas of wine country - and take day trips to vineyards and do wine tastings. We had to travel through a whole system of locks, which was pretty interesting. Our day trips would take us through small medieval villages sometimes, or into old castles and chateaux, which was really fascinating.

if you ever want to see the mississippi river in an interesting way...check out http://www.riverbarge.com/default.asp my dad's cousin owns this company...it's really nifty...they've got these barges with basically hotels built on them and they push them at a very lazy pace all the way up and down the mississippi....they stop and do little river tours...and they stop at most cities of interest along the river (depending on the cruise package)...they even push a casino barge along with the hotel barges....it's a really nice trip and you can see alot of interesting stuff when you're moving that slow up a river that large
