I keep running into this problem. I have tried apt-get -f install; but it does not work. I keep getting the same error. Should I reinstall all of the packages to set things right?

penguin:~# apt-get install ntop

You might want to run `apt-get -f install' to correct these:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
libc6: Conflicts: e2fsprogs (< 1.35-7) but 1.35-6 is to be installed
Conflicts: initrd-tools (< 0.1.84.1) but 0.1.70 is to be installed
locales: Depends: glibc-2.3.2.ds1-22
ntop: Depends: libfreetype6 (>= 2.2) but 2.1.7-2.1 is to be installed
E: Unmet dependencies. Try 'apt-get -f install' with no packages (or specify a solution).

hi welcome to geekstogo, I am relinking you to the gentoo forum since I believe that anyone trying linux should always work in tandem with the forum of that distro, that is, since there are 350distros out there now, however, if someone here has the exact answer you seek I am sure they will post it for you here so keep this thread subscribed please, thanks

Thanks but I am not using Gentoo. I just made up the name Gentoolink. My question was regarding apt-get or dpkg. If anybody here is a Linux expert please get back to me.
