Recently I have been experting a very strange problem with my HP D501CMT system (with XP Professional) the nature of which is as follows.
Whenever I shutdown the system using the conventional Start-Turn off Computer-Turn off process the system takes a very long time (sometimes as long as fifteen-twenty minutes) to shutdown. Consequently, I am using this medium to ascertain whether anyone can advise me on what to do in order to correct this very annoying problem. All advice/suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

When was the last time you did a scan for malware?

Have you run a reg clean utility?

How much info is on your hard drive? Drive Size?

Have you run a disk check recently? Defrag?
