Suggestions, anyone? The only thing I can think of causing this is us wrapping the router in a plastic bag because we're painting the room and can't move the modem from the AC power supply, but that should affect the wireless more than the wired connection, and it doesn't affect the wireless at all
Connection keeps getting lost

Yes that should affect the wireless more than the wired connection
I would recomend doing a system restore to a prevoius date when you didnt have connection trouble
To do this go to
Start / All Programs / Accsesories
When you get there llok for system tools
Next select system restore (usally at the bottom of the list)
Select 'restore mycomputer to an earlier date'
Then chose a date when the internet wasnt dropping all the time
Click next and it will restart your pc
This will only change settings, It will NOT Delete files Ect..
Hope this helps

There is always an overheating issue. I work in that field and I have seen heat do strange stuff to network hardware.

I don't think it's an overheating issue... we've been using this case for two months before this started happening....
No solutions?

Some things I would check for:
Try switching to different ethernet cable.
Look for firmware update to router.
Reinstall your network connection from scratch.
If you have two ethernet ports on computer try switching to other port.
Any new wireless phones in house which may cause interference with router?
Install latest drivers for your ethernet card and/or mobo drivers vice versa maybe roll any driver updates back
If you have ethernet card laying around pop one into case and see if that changes anything
Is there any strong source of electrical interference nearyby
