Hello ALL:

I am new to this and hope that someone can help get my PC clean and healthy again.

My anti-virus (Norton 2005) runs and finds threats, it says the delete failed for certain files... when I check the location, I cannot find them, so I re-ran the scan and it keeps finding these files. I have HiJackThis v1.99.1 and have scanned the system. I am hoping someone can help me to get rid of any threats that are possibly running or anything that is UNwanted. Here are the files that NAV2005 is finding but cannot delete them, and I cannot find them on my system.

Compressed files scanned
daoaa.dll - Adware.QoolAid - Adware found - Delete failed
inavnr.exe - Adware.QoolAid - Adware found - Delete failed
sgetgpb.dll - Adware.QoolAid - Adware found - Delete failed
winup2date.dll - Adware.QoolAid - Adware found - Delete failed

On this PC, I will say I host my personal website. I have IIS installed and run DynSite for my DDNS updater.

Here is a copy of the HiJackThis logfile.

Where did your AV program say the files were located? Compressed archive may mean they are in a system restore point

Right Click MY COMPUTER, choose PROPERTIES< choose SYSTEM RESTORE and turn it off.

It will take a few moments for your computer to delete them

Redo your scan.

If the files are not found this time, turn system restore back on.

If they are found, please post in the forum in my signature--you may have a rootkit.

Before I turned off the system restore, I ran the AV again, it found the files and more this time. It deleted a few but there are a few that it cannot delete, so I did what you had said and turned off the System Restore and ran the AV again... it still found the files. Below is the data for each of the files and location of each. When I do a system search for these files, I get no results.

inavnr.exe - The file C:\WINDOWS\system32\inavnr.exe is a Adware threat.
sgetgpb.dll - The file C:\WINDOWS\system32\sgetgpb.dll is a Adware threat.
winup2date.dll - The file C:\WINDOWS\system32\winup2date.dll is a Adware threat.

Again, here is another current HiJackThis system scan log.

I've completely jumped the gun here....I looked to quickly.

This is not what I originally thought it was.

This is a malware issue and is best dealt with on the appropriate forum (you can find it in my signature.)

Please go to that forum, read the instructions, and post accordingly. Sorry for the confusion.
