:D OK, we're not exactly novices, but we could use some help. We have a few .zip files downloaded, and we need to open them. We have been to the Microsoft website, and they suggest that in Windows Explorer, we right-click on the icon, and select "Extract." Problem is, when we right-click, the option to extract is not listed at all. There could be any number of reasons for this, but the upshot of it is, we need these files usable. We are trying really hard to get a business off the ground, and we're working against a deadline. We purchased an opt-in e-mail list (we don't believe in spam). It was downloaded as a .zip file, but unless and until we can access the information, it is useless, and the clock is ticking. We have e-mailed the company, but to no avail; that's why we're writing to you. <_< We're using Windows 98, and we thought that came with WinZip, but apparently not on our computer. HELP!!! Any help we can get would be most greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for your time and trouble!

Hello liacaz, and welcome to GTG! <_<

The instructions from MS website you referenced would be for Windows XP. Windows 98 doesn't have support for Zip files built-in. You must download and install a third party program.

The most popular of these is WinZip, it's a free download:

FreeZip is another very good Zip program, that's completely free:
