I have a laptop running windows xp sp2, and when I am attempting to access the internet wirelessly at anywhere but my house (school, hotels, friends houses) I get an error message which pops up on the taskbar which reads "limited or no connectivity." I have a 169.xxx.etc ip. I have tried "ipconfig /release, ipconfig /renew, ipconfig /flushdns," I have tried the winsock fix and the windows kb patch. At my house (where the connection works) I have a microsoft mn-700 wireless router. Could this somehow be contributing to the problem? When renewing my ip it gives me a message that I can not connect to the dhcp. Thank you for your help.

Hello,
Refer to my post in another similar topic (http://www.geekstogo...showtopic=10748) - when I changed the PCI cards around it actually changed the IRQ's around - so if there is a way to do this on your laptop it could be worth a try.

HTH

Cheers

Thanx a bunch, but the problem went away. I didn't even do anything!
