New Tech here :)
- we have Dell gx520's in some buildings. Lately-in one of my buildings, some of them, totally random too.. just shut off. this can be in the middle of someone working on them too. Turn off and power light on CPU blinks amber.
Reseat memory- power back on- all is fine for either days or hours.. then it can happen again. This has happened to about 5 machines already in one building.
Electrical? Can dell have THIS many issues with the power supplies for these? Is there something ELSE to check?
thanks in advance

Have you checked the capacitors on the motherboard? they are the can-like objects... check to see if any are bulged or leaking ( usually from top but not always )

Dell has had a few bouts with that in the past. you may also want to try UPS to see if its the power to the location... or maybe ( if possible ) swap one problem computer for a non-problem in another building...

Thank you- Yes we have tried the switching of the power supply. I will watch the capacitor issue-- thanks for the suggestion! :)
