a little over a month ago I downloaded the free trial of a-squared security center.. Did a scan and it mistakenly thought oleaut32 as a spyware so I agreed with it deleting it. first thing I noticed is almost all programs having a kernell32 error. I did a little search for a solution and downloaded another version of oleaut3.dll. most programs came back but a few like spywareblaster still has problems. My OS is win 98, the version of oleaut32.dll is 2.40.4515, I don't know if it is a related problem but also when I click on any program requiring audio I get another error to the effect missing audio drivers or the drivers are not installed properly.

I suggest uninstalling the A-squared Security Center.

I recommend using reputable softwares such as AVG Anti-virus Free Edition and SUPERAntiSpyware. Both are free, with limited features, but they will serve you well.

For AVG Anti-virus Free Edition, visit http://free.grisoft.com/

For SUPERAntiSpyware, visit http://www.superanti....com/index.html

Furthermore, you should download CCleaner and use their Registry Cleaning feature.

For CCleaner, visit http://www.ccleaner.com/download/
