So, I am thinking of wiping my OS/programs HD and keeping my media HD in tact to speed up my computer...

Will I be able to save my specific info from iTunes (play count, date added, etc) after reinstalling iTunes but keeping the media drive in tact? (I know its a minor detail but its important to me)

Icculus,

I posted an answer to your hardware question few minutes ago about playing music and slow down of your computer. I notice in your post here that you are using an external drive of some type to host your music on. What type of connection are you using for this drive? USB1,usb2, etc. This connection may be part of problem. See my post in that section.
