Hi Harry1950...
This problem can be caused by any number of things...including malware.
Click Start, then Run, type cmd and click "Ok". This will open a command session. At the command prompt, type the following, pressing "Enter" after each:
I would also recommend that you pay a visit to the Malware Forum and follow the instructions you'll find there.
That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty--and you may not be-- post a hijackthis log in THAT forum. Do Not reply to or "bump" your own topic...if it shows a reply, it may be overlooked as one that is being worked on.

Got the system restore to work this am by following the following URL:
www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=c717d943-7e4b-4622-86eb-95a22b832caa&DisplayLang=en
you then can download Windows Script 5.6 for Windows XP, downloaded re-booted all seems ok at this time.
Thanks for your help......!
