DVD drive is not burning properly..

i have a benq DW1650 and i have the latest firmware for it (BCIC).. I load qsuite (a prog that came with the burner) and ran the Qscan test. I tried it on 8x, 4x and 2x speed... Only the 2x speed passed and was recommended but it should be able to do 8x... The 4x and 8x, when tested, are ok up until the end of the disc where the tracking and focusing errors get really high really quickly (before the end everything is ok)... I don't think this is the discs fault because this never happened before.. I think it's because i upgraded to the latest firmware?? would someone please help

How old is the drive? Have your tried a different program to burn with?

about 2 years maybe?? yes it works with nero 8..
