Hi!

My problem started a week ago when i found malware on my computer. I don't like malware (who does?) so I deleted it. But one is still left, "Browser Hijacker, www.miniclip.com", I can't remove it, and iv'e never been to that site!
I ran a Windows Repair to remove it, but no, it's still there, and now, XP freezes randomly.
When it freezes, all animations, videos and sounds/music, still play. I can move my cursor, but not click anything. I've tried CTRL + ALT + DELTE but as I said, I can't click anything.
So now my computer is all strange. when I open Windows Media Player, Internet (Firefox) or something else, and have too many windows up, it freezes. But, my computer don't freeze when I play games.
Is it any program to fix this? Or is my only option to reinstall XP?
(Personally, I don't want to reinstall XP. I have VERY many files to reinstall after that.)

I hope this help, or I can send a HijackThis log next post.

Thanks in advice!

Hi:

Please go to the Malware section of this forum and follow the instructions at the top. Especially the Click Here link. That will give you several steps that will help you clean up most of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the cleanup process you are still having difficulty, and you may not be, then post a hijackthis log in THAT forum.

Please be patient as the "Malware Forum" is a very busy place and a two or three day wait is not unusual.

If you are still having problems after getting a clean bill of health from the Malware Section, please return to this thread. Please do not post a HiJackThis log in this thread unless asked to do so and then only as an attachment. To attach log, when requested, either change the .log extension to .txt, or put the log into a compressed (zipped) folder.

Please post back if your problem has been solved.
