BIOS update?

I downloaded AIDA32 for some info about my computer, now I don't understand the idea of BIOS, AIDA says its 2 years old and to update if necessary. I have no idea of what to do, is it necessary to update BIOS ?

Never update your bios unless you have a reason. That reason may be new functionality added by the BIOS update or correcting a problem.

Though bios updates gone bad are rare today, there was a time when updating your bios was considered risky; still, the same rule applies.
