I use a linksys wireless-B USB network adapter ver.4.0 for my wireless connection and it came with a 6 ft USB cord.So 6 ft is no where near as long as i need.A friend of mine who build computers spliced together a 20 ft USB cord to use.
I had been using someones Toshiba laptop with the long USB cord & it worked great. But when i returned their laptop & started using my HP Omnibook 6000 w/the long USB cord I kept getting a error popup telling me something had malfunctioned.I got this error every USB port I tried the long cord in.
So i tried using the 6 ft USB that the linksys came with & everything worked fine.
A long USB cord that I need is too expensive for me right now & having to practically hang out my window to use my laptop is really getting to me.
Can someone help me get this XP of mine to recognize the long USB cord successfully? Please & Thank you!
