Hi, I have version 8.5 of messenger installed. I had read somewhere that everyone now has to have at least version 7.5 (not sure) installed, if not they would not be compatible to peop;e using 8.0 or higher. Does anyone know if this is true? Thanks

Also the other I sent my friend messages and they weere returned why? Thanks to all of you for any responses :)

Seems there is another thread about this somewhere.

I am not a fan of messenger but I do know the 7.5 version has had a lot of problems.

For those of you on XP who are passionate about staying on MSN Messenger, we’ve now released the new, more secure build of MSN Messenger 7.0 build 0820 for Windows XP, and we recommend you install and use this build (rather than running MSN Messenger 7.5 on XP in Windows 2000 compatibility mode as we realize some of you are doing). If you currently have MSN Messenger 7.5 installed, we recommend you uninstall it via Add/Remove Programs and install MSN Messenger 7.0.0820

.. not that this answers your question but isn't the 8.5 version a beta?

MS has a board for the 8.5 at 8.5 Talk
