Hi-
I'm trying to recover deleted pictures from the internal memory of my digital camera. The camera is a Kodak Z700. The recovery software is Zero Assumption Digital Image Recovery. O/S is Vista Home Premium. When I plug the camera in to the computer it automatically finds a driver, loads it and identifies it as a camera. In order to use the recovery software I need the computer to identify it as a drive. I've tried everything in the help file that came with the software. Does anyone know how to force my computer to identify the camera as a removable drive?????

Most cameras will appear in My Computer with a drive letter. However if you've wiped the memory to a point where Windows won't give it a drive letter then the only way to get Windows to give it one is to format it again. Having said that, any decent file recovery software should be able to talk to the drive coming from the camera and see it as a new drive, but you may need to alter a setting on the camera - the point being you shouldn't need a drive letter. Consult your manual.
