Been having great difficulty in using Microsoft Windows Movie Maker, when trying to edit movie clips on a particular project, the system will come to standstill and i have to reboot, but it seems to be getting worse.

Could this be a problem exterior to windows Movie Maker?

Hi waynf.

Not that many people use MS Movie Maker because XP apps are generally prettyy lame compared to commercial apps.

MM may have corrupted files. You could try uinstalling Movie Maker and then reinstalling it:

-) Uninstall and then reinstall MM:

Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs
On the left margin of the window click the button Add/Remove Windows Components
Uncheck Movie Maker > Click the Next button
Follow any remaining instructions.

To Reinstall:
Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs > Add/Remove Windows Components
Check checkbox MM > Click Next...

I don't mean to drag this subject out, but at Microsoft there is indicated that Windows Movie Maker 2.1 is included with SP2 update. Well I already have that downloaded update, so can I go ahead and uninstall, and just download the application anyway?

when you have system lock ups it could be many reasons ...heat ...low voltage..to many things running at the same time and others ...without more specifics its going to be tough to figure out...
