hey! i have a VIA/S3G UniChrome Pro IGP (64 MB intergrated VGA card). I would like to update it but don't know any safe sites. I fear if i download something wrong it might bust up my VGA forever!!! Can ya'll please help. Do ya'll know any sites to update my VIA/S3G UniChrome Pro IGP drivers????

edit: oh by the way the version of the card is 6.14.0010.0144 (English)

HERE is a driver that is a little newer and probably the latest driver for that card.

Without knowing exactly what you are trying to do, if the above doesn't accomplish it, your only alternative would be to purchase and add-on vid card and disable the on-board graphics.

I just clicked on it and it offered to download an .exe file for me. Spoon007, perhaps you could right-click on the Here Murray provided and select "Save As..." ?

EDIT: Just tried it myself, it doesn't work by right-clicking, but a normal click does work...

Well, an unknown mobo name is a hinderance to say the least. Is your system a Dell, HP, Cpmpaq, etc or custom made?

Can you give me the make and model of the computer?

One last thing, can you explain what you mean about "updating the video card"? You can't add more memory to it if that is what you are looking to do.

well when i usually go to some forums where people have a game problem some guys usually say "make sure your drivers are up to date" thats what i mean when i say i want to update my video card driver

Well, I would hate to be the bearer of bad news, but 99% of on-board graphics don't have the ability to play the newer games that are coming out - updated drivers or not.

You best option would be to purchase a good video card (128/256 meg) that is copmpatible with your system.

Sometimes I find the motherboard information is hidden in Everest Home Edition, but it just doesn't pick up on it in the "motherboard" section for some reason...

Spoon007, try this (I think you've obviously already downloaded it!):

Download and install Everest Home Edition
Run the program and then click on Report up the top.
Click Next, select System Summary Only and click Next, select Plain Text and click Finish.
Copy the second section of the report (Summary) and paste it into your next reply.

just wanted to tell murray i don't play a lot of new games on my computer, i usually go to cafes for that kind of thing. I mainly use my computer for like you know designing and macromedia flash and programming and then here or there i might buy a play a random game that supports my system (like warcraft or sonic heroes) but i just want to update my video drivers just to see if it makes a difference.

P.S. Murray, you were actually not the first one to break the sad news to me. hehe. thanks a lot for reminding me though.
