Hello,
I'm new to this forum, but looking for some help in regards to getting rid of a trojan. This is what it says when avast comes up with it, C:\windows\system32\drivers\cnprov.sys. Ran avast and spybot S&D multiple times but avast still comes up with it. This thing is driving me nuts, any suggestion would be helpful. Thanks

Welcome to GTG.

Please do not post duplicate topics. Merged...

Please print the below instructions or copy them to Notepad.

Download ATF Cleaner at http://www.atribune..../click.php?id=1
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program. Under Main choose Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.

If you use the Firefox browser click Firefox at the top and choose Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.

If you use the Opera browser click 'Opera' at the top and choose 'Select All'
Click the Empty Selected button.
NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.

Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

Restart your computer and boot into Safe Mode (if you don't know how, go to http://www.bleepingc...showtutorial=61 ). Make sure to close any internet browsers that may still be open.

Uninstall the following via the Add/Remove Panel (Start->Settings->Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs) if found:

SpywareBot
OCINS

Run a scan in HijackThis. Check each of the following if they still exist and hit 'Fix Checked' after you checked the last one:

R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://red.clientapp.../search/ie.html
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,CustomizeSearch = http://client.jogo.c...msearch-en.html
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyOverride = 127.0.0.1
R3 - URLSearchHook: SrchspHook Class - {22F86F33-9CBB-49a8-BB12-CDBE51B4C294} - C:\PROGRA~1\OCINS\srchsp.dll (file missing)
O2 - BHO: Info cache - {385AB8C6-FB22-4D17-8834-064E2BA0A6F0} - C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\PCTools\pctools.dll (file missing)
O2 - BHO: Invoke Class - {42A3A616-FF3C-4713-A5C2-4F1B566CEF51} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\4f71.dll
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [IdnSvr] C:\Program Files\OCINS\idnsvr.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [SpywareBot] C:\Program Files\SpywareBot\SpywareBot.exe -boot
O8 - Extra context menu item: &Access Internet Keyword - C:\Program Files\OCINS\cnrbtn.html
O23 - Service: Windows Management PrintSystem (spoo1sv) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\spoo1sv.exe

Go to Start->Run and type in notepad and hit OK. Then copy and paste the following into Notepad:

sc stop spoo1sv
sc delete spoo1sv
del delete.bat

Save the file as "delete.bat". Make sure to save it with the quotes. Double click on it.

Locate the following Files/Folders and delete them if they exist (if no location given, just do a search for them):

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\PCTools\
C:\WINDOWS\system32\4f71.dll
C:\Program Files\SpywareBot\
C:\Program Files\OCINS\
C:\windows\system32\drivers\cnprov.sys
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\spoo1sv.exe

Restart. Perform an online scan with Internet Explorer at Panda ActiveScan http://www.pandasoft.../activescan.htm

* Click on 'Scan your PC' button. There should be a popup - if you have a pop-up blocker, make sure it's not blocking it.
* Click 'Check Now' & a pop-up window will appear.
* Enter your Country, State and E-mail Address & click 'Scan Now' - begin downloading Panda's ActiveX controls (8 MB size).
* Begin the scan by selecting My Computer.
* If it finds any malware, it will offer you a report. Ignore any entry it finds (since it wants you to buy the program for removal) as we will address this later.
* Click on see report. Then click Save report.
* Post that log in your next reply along with a new HijackThis log.
