I want to buy a more powerful (louder & clearer) set of speakers for my PC Aspire RC500 but I do not really unnderstand the specifications when viewing search results. I am not sure what I am asking really just some advice on what specifications are most important and what I should be looking for and any recommendations. Are PC surround systems any good?

I did buy a speaker set but needed to keep my old subwoofer? conneted so that my monitor would still work.

I would appreciate any help offered,
