Hi,

I have HP Pabilion Laptod DV1000 series, it has Windows XP loaded on it, AntiVirus McAfee expired.

Recently i have encountered a problem which is not allowed me to access any of the utilities such as TASK MANAGER, MSCONFIG etc. Whenever i try to access them system promts me with the msg "task manager has been disabled by your administrator"

What i feel the possible cause behind this is;
i have transcend 1GB pen drive, which is virus affected. in each of the folders of my pen drive there is an automatic folder created with .exe extension. i had erroneously clicked on this folder, since then this problem started.

kindly help.

Regards

Hi Ashutos...

Let's let the malware experts deal with this one.

Please go to the Malware Forum and follow the instructions found there.

That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself...then post a hijackthis log in THAT forum. Be patient, the Malware Forum is a very busy place and a two or three day wait is not unusual. Do not reply to or bump your own topic. If it shows a reply it may be overlooked as one that is being worked on.

Click Here to start a new topic and paste your log.

If you are still having problems after getting a clean bill of health from the malware expert, please return to this thread.
