Sound Recorder

I've been trying to record a song from exterior source(audio Cassette) but evertime I press the record button even just to set up the recording speed I get a dialogue box which says that "Another Application is Recording Audio."

I pressed CNTRL-ALT-DEL and the only application indicated as running is Sound Recorder. I havve no other audio programs for sound recording on my system to the best of my knowledge.
