All of a sudden my main computer lost connection - when I rebooted modem, router, and computer I got a message that I had little or no connectivity and that Windows had not assigned an IP address. Windows repair failed. the upstairs computer is fine. Windows xp, cable connection - system has been running fine to 3 years

Please Help

Hello wallyb,

Try reinitializing modem, router, and computer. Unplug modem and router for 15-30 seconds, and shutdown computers. Then plug modem in followed by router and try restarting computers again.

I had reintialized everything several times and continued to get the same error so I assumed I had a different problem but I unplugged everything and left it down for 20 minutes or so and when I restarted everyughitn up it worked
