I am trying to set up a home network with a Linksys Wireless N Router wrt150n with 2 hard wired computers. I have followed space cowboy's instruction but I do not get the address type "assigned by dhcp" and get the 169 as a prefix for a IP address. Can someone help me? I tried using the Linksys advisor but with no help. I also thought it might be my ethernet card and replaced that as well but no go. Can someone help me?

Make sure that dhcp is enabled in your router. If it isn't it won't hand out addresses. You need to enter the router's setup page to do that, you need to be connected with a cable to do it.
