Good Morning,

I have a couple questions that I am hoping someone has the answers to. I am trying to learn about Zone Alarm Firewall. I installed it this week and cannot seem to figure two things out. I have scoured through the help section and posted on their forum board and cannot seem to find answers that I understand.

First, the trusted zone has allowed a VPN and I am not sure what this?? I have satelittle internet because I live in rural area could that be it?? I am not sure.

Zone alarm keeps stopping a Win32 Host services from accessing the internet.....This is making it impossible to play games online. How can I stop this and do I want to?

If anyone has information that would help me I would appreciate it. I do not want to get infected again.

Thank you for your help in advance, from a new firewall user.

Tina :)

Next time ZA gives you a popup on this service, you can select to find out more information about it so you can determine whether to allow it or not. Once your decision is made, be sure to check the box to always remember the decision so you will get no more popups concerning the process.

Do you have more info about the process name other then just Win 32 Host Service (Svchost.exe maybe)? If Svchost.exe, then it may be a process that needs to access the Internet. If you checked the processes running in Task manager, you may see more then one Svchost.exe running. That's normal.

Just to add to Major Payne's comments. VPN is a secure method of connecting point to point. It's mostly used by people who work remotely to access the corp. network in a secure manner.
