My Windows Vista will not boot after the green progress bar on the splash screen, i think it may have been to do woth me not shutting down my pc and just pressing the button, so I went into safe mode and used system recovery to restore my computer to a few days ago but stil nothing works.

When i try 2 use the upgrade facility on the Vista upgrade disk it wont let me work it in safe mode or from boot but says i must go into normal mode to get it working, but i no i have managed 2 get it working from there before.

Any suggestions on how to fix it anyone?

Thanks

If you have a lot of Hard Drives, or peripherals installed on the Computer, try removing some, they can make the boot last longer. If you can't or this isn't the case, you may have to try a system repair from the Windows Vista CD, or recovery partition. Have you tried to boot it up, and wait a while for it to scan devices? I know that it checks the drives out before showing the login screen. I had 5 drives, and it took about 10 min to load. Hope that helps.
