Hi all

Im building up a new AM2-based computer with the AMD black edition 6400+ which obviously will need adequate cooling.

Ive got an asrock AliveNf6g-VSTA motherboard, but Im having problems with the zalman CNPS7500-Cu LED fan I bought.

Basically, the bracket that came supplied with the zalman is square and the the one already on the asrock board is a rectangle, making it impossible for me to put on the new one.

I thought I'd try putting the fan on the old bracket anyway, and it appeared to fit the bracket; however the bracket is not high enough to be able to screw it back to the motherboard, let alone have a CPU under it!

Can anyone recommend anything? IE If I do need to buy a new cooler (likely) does anyone know of one that will fit on the motherboard, but still be adequate for the processor?

Thanks in advance

I don't have any experience with this cooler but I was able to dig up some nice diagrams from the Zalman website: http://www.zalman.co...a...38&code=009.

If it doesn't fit properly then don't use it. You will be fine with your stock fan, assuming that you bought retail and not OEM, until you get something else ( also assuming overclocking is your goal ).

I ended up buying a slightly different model of cooler as there was no way that one was fitting in.. Just hope I can sell the other one on now!
