can't open Windows XP

:) Hi I have a desktop computer and i can't open it. when i start it the emachine thing will come out then some readings from ms dos then this thing come out:

Windows could not start beacuse of an error in the software
Please report this problem as
Load needed DLLs kernel
Please contact your support person to report this problem.

The most likely cause of this is corrupted Windows system files. You will need to reinstall Windows. Do an "upgrade" install so your data are preserved. I recommend backing up your data to another computer and doing a clean install. To do the backup, you will need to take out the hard drive and put it into another working computer and copy the data over.
