Hey :)

With the current Hijack This Forum system, it's hard to tell whether a staff member is already helping someone with their log, and some users are left behind getting no help with their log because their topic is being pushed down to the bottom of the forums. It's also hard to search through all of the resolved, current, and closed threads to find a thread that has been resolved that deals with an infection you're trying to find more information about.

I think it would be a good idea if we split the one Hijack This forum into 3 forums.
  • Malware Removal - HijackThis™ Logs Go Here (Users post their logs into this forum as usual, this is where the users wait for help)
  • HijackThis™ Logs In Progress (Staff move the topics here when they are helping the user with them)
  • Archive
  • HijackThis™ Logs Abandoned Threads (If the topic is abandoned - not resolved, it goes here)
  • HijackThis™ Logs Resolved Threads (If the topic is resolved it goes here)
[/list]This allows the staff to see at a glance which threads and how many are unanswered, and it much easier to see if a thread has been abandoned. It's also easy to search through the resolved threads.

Thanks for your time,
~Matt :)

Your idea would be a management nightmare. Who would be responsible to move these threads? How do new users understand when they cant find their thread?

Why not use the tools that are already available? In the Malware Removal forum, click Forum Options, then select "List unreplied to threads".

I didn't realize we had the List unreplied to threads, that basically solves the non-existent problem. Sorry :).
