Thank you for being patient! Will you do a huge favor for me? On of our experts would like to analyze the malware files in your system since it is a new infection.

This is an important part, I need you to set your computer to show hidden files:

CLICK THIS LINK TO LEARN HOW TO SHOW HIDDEN FILES

Then, using Windows Explorer (they won't show up if you use "search"), if you would, please follow the file paths below and locate the files in bold. When you find them, right click and go to "Send to" > "Compressed (zipped) Folder" (it will be saved in whatever main folder you're in) e-mail the zipped folders to this adress: File Submissions

Thanks for getting back to me.

I followed your outline exactly but could not find any of the files that you requested. I did all the steps and rechecked again to make sure but I still could not find any of the files. I believe I may have deleted prior to my contact with you, the wp.exe and perhaps the wp.bmp but I am not sure. The only file I located was the logfile. It has 1 - 3mb file that I will attempt to send asap.
When I click File Submissions it takes me to outlook. I have never realy used outlook so I will try to get the file to you.

Don't forget to zip up the Log Files folder before sending otherwise it will probably come back to you!

Umm, your last log is showing all of those files, so I need to see a new HiJackThis log.

Did you do some cleaning yourself besides possibly deleting wp.exe and wp.bmp?

Please read these instructions carefully and print them out! Be sure to follow ALL instructions!

Go to Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs and remove the following programs, if found:

Security IGuard
Virtual Maid
Search Maid
Ebates_MoeMoneyMaker
AWS or WeatherBug

Exit Add/Remove Programs.

*IMPORTANT* CLICK THIS LINK TO LEARN HOW TO VIEW HIDDEN FILES

Press CTRL ALT DELETE and click on the Processes tab. End the following processes:

msole32.exe
popuper.exe
intmonp.exe

Exit Task Manager.

*Click Here to download Killbox by Option^Explicit.
*Extract the program to your desktop and double-click on its folder, then double-click on Killbox.exe to start the program.
*In the killbox program, select the Delete on Reboot option.
*In the field labeled Full Path of File to Delete enter the file paths listed below ONE AT A TIME (EXACTLY as it appears, please double check to make sure! I would just copy each file path and paste it in the field) MAKE SURE TO ENTER ALL FILE PATHS!:

C:\wp.exe
C:\wp.bmp
C:\Windows\sites.ini
C:\Windows\popuper.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\wldr.dll
C:\Windows\System32\helper.exe
C:\Windows\System32\intmonp.exe

Press the button that looks like a red circle with a white X in it after each one. When it asks if you would like to delete on reboot, press the YES button, when it asks if you want to reboot now, press the NO button. Do this after each one until you have entered the LAST file path I have listed above. After that LAST file path has been entered press the YES button at both prompts so that your computer restarts. If you recieve an error message "PendingRenameOperation...." and your computer doesn't restart, please restart it manually.

While your computer is restarting, tap the F8 key continually until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode, then hit enter.

Make sure you can view hidden files.

Using Windows Explorer, delete the following (please do NOT try to find them by "search" because they will not show up that way)

FOLDERS & FILES to delete (in bold) if found:

C:\Program Files\Search Maid <-Folder
C:\Program Files\Virtual Maid <-Folder
C:\Windows\System32\Log Files <-Folder

Reboot into normal mode.

*Download and install Registrar Lite version 2.00
*Double click the purple Registrar Lite icon on your desktop.
*Copy the line below and paste it into the "Address" field (located at the top) of the program:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies

*Click the "Go" button.
*It will take you into the "Policies" folder.
*Locate the "System" folder (in the right panel)
*If found, right-click on the System folder and go to Delete
*Be very careful that you only delete the System folder that is inside the Policies folder.

Reboot your computer again.

1.) Download the Hoster from HERE Press "Restore Original Hosts" and press "OK". Exit Program.

2.) Download: http://www.mvps.org/.../DelDomains.inf
To use: right-click and select: Install (no need to restart)
Note: This will remove all entries in the "Trusted Zone" and "Ranges" also.

3.) Download, install, and run CleanUp!

Sorry I have not responded sooner. I am having a very frustrating time with getting this done. The computer is very slowwwwwwwww!
I have downloaded killbox and unzipped it. When I run the killbox.exe nothing happens except when I look in the processes it shows it running but nothing is on the screen. Any suggestions? I have to run to work so I will not have time today to attempt a fix.

I followed all your instructions and got to downloadRegistrar Lite. When I try to install the program a message come up that it is Initializing the install but it never gets past the message. Similar happened with Killbox. The only way to get rid of the message is to go into processes and end it. Any suggestions?
