A few weeks ago, I picked up mediaaccess/mediaacck and it created pains in trying to get it removed.
When i relaized that I had been hijacked, my first response was system restore, and that is when I discovered it had been disabled and I had a major bug on the machine.
None of the popular spyware programs would pick it up and everytime I tried to remove mediaaccess.exe or disable it from the start up menu....it would just reappear!
I finally found through google a posting on a site saying it was as simple as going to "add/remove" programs and removing the program. As far as I can tell it has removed the program, however, my system restore was not enabled by removing media access. Since system restore still will not work, I have a strong feeling I still have some files associated with mediaaccess/mediaacck still on the hard drive.
Can anyoner give me info on how I can get my XP system restore to function again?
