1)try shutting down xfire before launching the game and see if that helps.

2)this game isn't known to be "vista" compatible.

right click on the game shortcut and select "run as administrator". Also, if your running with User Access Control (UAC) enabled, then you might want to try and disable it.

you answered your own question. Vista handles drivers, security, and software much differently. The fact that our able to run it all, puts you a long way ahead of most others.

The Solution

1) go to the drive you installed it to.
2) go to C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Republic Commando\GameData\System
3) then right click on SWRepublicCommando
4)run as administrator
5) play

after doing this there is only one problem I am having saving the files. I think there might be some other way to open the game with it saving but I will continure to try and figure it out.

He got it to work by right clicking on it and running it as administrator. Your problem sounds different so you should look into making your own thread.

This question is a couple years old, but i was compelled to respond when i found the answer. What you will need to do is set the bumpmapping to "low". It turns out this game runs fine on windows vista, but has some difficulties with higher end video cards. But turning the bumpmapping to low will solve this problem.
