Hi, I have recently removed mcafee from new vista system - looking for best, least intrusive total security system (antivirus, spyware, firewall((running lynksys router)). Tried Kaspersky while mcafee still installed and wasn't thrilled with the performance of pc - everything was extremely slow. Any recomendations - I am not opposed to paying for service - just want something thorough that won't slow system down. PC used for internet only - no gaming or business.

Thanks for your help;

HI, I have had very good luck with Kaspersky, without any really bad slowdowns. However, with another software installed like mcafee, both running on the system, I could pretty safely say that was probably the cause of the slowdowns. Running any multiple antivirus/security type software like that which both are doing realtime scanning, is going to drastically slow down a system. I would try kaspersky without mcafee installed, and see if it works better with that being the case.
