I cannot get my computer to load in normal mode. The only way it works is in safe mode. When I go through normal mode, the green bar goes across the screen but it never rolls over into the sign in screen. I have tried system resotore and it sits for hours and hours and nothing happens. I have tried the repair system and it does the same. Certain things that I try to do even in safe mode freezes he computer. Please help!

Not sure if Vista has the same 'Advanced Startup Options' as XP (I'm not a Vista owner but have used it), but I would expect it to have the same. Hold down F8 as soon as you switch on the PC until the menu appears. Select "last known good configuration" with the up/down arrow keys, press Enter.
