Every time I go to a site that has a video to play (that requires Active-X) I get the message that it requires Active-X Object to run and it will not until I have downloaded and installed.
Now have done this several times.
This is clearly not right as that the program has already been installed should be recognised automatically.
Do I uninstall Active-X Object and just give up on those sites that require it?
Active-X Object cannot be cleared without either installing (done 5/6 times so far) or by using Task Manager
Active-X 'Contact or Help' on their site does not work.

Hello RayBrook,

What is the ActiveX control that you are having problems with? Please go to Tools | Internet Options, click the Security tab, select Internet, and make sure the security level is set to "Medium-High".

Hi - this is the program giving problems (insert link) - problem is that when I go to a site that has videos to play (ok porn, but we all do it) and that site requires this axtivex object to play the video I get a message to load this activex program.

I then CANNOT exit as when I click on the X (exit) or a 'No' option I just go round in circles as there is no way out,
except to use Task Manager to close the site but that will cancel out whatever internet sites that I am in not just the anoying one that is insisting on my having to load activex.

Having used Task Manager several times on these sites I gave in and loaded the activex program but then find that it is not recognised as having been loaded the next time that I trip over one of these sites, so either have to use Task Manager to clear the internet connection or load this activex again.

Not perhaps as serious as some computer problems but is very annoying and others must have axperienced this as well.

Re the 'Security Internet' option I checked and it was already at 'Medium-High'

Many thanks Ray

Ray,

This is a family friendly site. We do no help with porn unless its to remove malware infections. In fact I strongly suspect this to be a potential malware infection and will ask one of the malware team to look into it.

Thank you,
