sound card install leads to windows errors/ HELP!

Hello All...
Having problems after installing new sound card...System goes to disk check automatically after boot..Doing a
Windows Error Report, it comes back that is in the audio hardware....I really would like some help getting this resolved.
Thanks in advance to all replies.... ~wyld~

Were you using on-board sound prior to fitting the new sound-card?
If so, you need to disable on-board sound in the BIOS setup, otherwise there will be a conflict between the two.

Or, if the error makes any reference to the driver being incompatible, you may need to download the latest driver.

Another remote possibility is that your system simply doesn't like your choice of soundcard. It does happen.
