I have downloaded a new font I want to use with word.... where do I need to put the file I downloaded??

Control Panel (Classic view)->Fonts.
When Fonts window opens, click on 'File->Install New Font'

Alternatively, if you have your Control Panel and don't watch to switch it to Classic View for whatever reason, just go to "C:\WINDOWS\Fonts" and you will reach the same window pip22 was talking about. His method is of course shorter, though. :-)

P.S: Don't go around installing too many fonts on your computer, as I've heard it will slow it down.
