My IE homepage has been changed to hotoffers.info. Every few minutes unsolicited popups and messages appear, and the IE opens the same site. Norton Antivirus doesn't detect a problem.

An online scan at Pcpistop.com showed infection with virus:
Trj/downloader.BCK

What next? The Hijackthis log shows:
Logfile of HijackThis v1.99.1
Scan saved at 4:29:03 PM, on 18-Apr-05
Platform: Windows XP SP1 (WinNT 5.01.2600)

Since I was short of options, I restored the PC to a previous state through 'Rapid Restore'.

Please take the problem to be solved.

Thanks,

Manku
