We're trying to nurse our 7-year old 2nd computer (Windows 98) through one more year. Lately it's been crashing frequently, usually while we're trying to send or open mail in Outlook Express 6 (6.00.2800.1123).

Can I download updates to OE 6 from Microsoft, or would the updates not work with W98?

Outlook Express is part of Windows 98, and MS doesn't support Win98 any longer. Updating OE probably isn't going to keep OE from crashing, either. When you say crash, what exactly happens? Do you get an error message?

Yes, we get an error message...usually an exception or fatal exception involving a VXD. Error numbers have included 0x800CCC0F and 0x800CCC0E.
