my daughter has a vsita computer and it tried to do an update and now the computer says configuring updates, but wont get past that point and she has tried to restart it multiple times and to let it run endlessly but it will not get passed that point. any suggestions?

Is this a custom build or a brand name machine? If it's branded, what's the make and model number?

Does your daughter have a Vista cd?

It is an HP laptop, I actually called HP and did a system restore to theday before this occured and turned off Windows updates for the time being (she is traveling in Europe at this time) and will reset all when she returns.
