i have a mainboard that supports 2x/4x AGP cards..
and theres a chance of having PNY Geoforce 6600 8xAGP..
will the mainboard let the VGA card works with 4x only?or it wont work?

by all means you could try it but the bandwidth would be reduced to half the amount, this would be like cutting all your gpu,memory clock and shader clocks in half? see what happens
