Everything looks pretty good except for the Video card. At a minimum get an 8800GT. 8600GT is not really good for gaming.

Here is a rough estimate
8600GTS<7900GS<x1950pro<HD3850<8800GTS 320mb<8800GTS 640mb=HD2900XT<HD3870<8800GT<8800GTX<8800Ultra
The placing of the 8800GTS and HD2900XT are debatable, it varies under a number of circumstances.

I would say at a minimum HD3850, it's about as good as budget gaming comes right now.

The power supply has to go, what is your budget for power supplies?

The PSU is the most important component of the computer and is usually the first part to be skimped on. If you do not want the PC to fry or be under powered then I recommend this: http://www.newegg.co...N82E16817371001
It is reliable, coast efficient, and has a very high energy efficiency (>80%) meaning a lower electric bill.

But mainly you just want a reliable PSU manufacture that will not fry your whole rig.

Which is why I suggested the HD3850, it blows the 8600GTS out of the water for the same price.

Total comes to $881.91 (After all rebates are back, it comes to $801.91). This leaves $100 or so for the monitor, which is probably not going to get you a fantastic one in a large size, but currently I just finished building a new gaming tower and decided to get better bits inside, I'm going to start saving and upgrade my monitor later. Gaming on my 17" LCD is fine for me If you currently have a monitor, I would keep it and save. I wouldn't really recommend cutting down any of those parts any further, especially if you are interested in playing future games
