You would need one powerful PSU for that! Of course, the cards don't look so pretty from the top, they look better from the bottom :) What makes you think ATI are sick? They seem to be going pretty healthy at the moment :)

After the 7950GX2 failure, I doubt I'd ever look into one of these cards. The need the proper support (e.g. Drivers) for smooth operation, support kinda feel apart for the 7900GX2, not to mention games need to support it.
It'll be interesting, it seems nVidia is also preparing itself for a similar launch.
