:D I'm trying to create a simple connection from my desktop to my laptop to share a few files. I wud just use a cd disk but for some reason my re-writer has stoped working, so I thought about setting up a basic LAN connection with just a cable from one computer to the other.
Both have ethernet connections yet wen I try to set up a connection, neither computer can see each other nor find the connection.
Both are on XP.
Can anyone help me,
P.S noob at settin up networks so b gentle with the words lol <_<

Hi and welcome to Geeks to Go! <_<

When connecting two computers together directly, it requires a special network cable called a cross-over cable. You should be able to purchase one at any computer store.
