First.

I've suddenly got a slow Internet today. I dunno what's wrong, and also my Windows Live Messenger scripts are all gone, and handwriting plugins all deleted. Can anyone suggest something for me on what to do?

Second.

I've finally found the services tab in my router, and I'd like to close some ports so that I can minimize the risk of getting infected/getting hit by a DDoS attack. Can anyone tell me which ports are not usually needed? I don't host a webserver/use P2P software. Thanks.
